Coder Dojo Drogheda Launched

Yesterday, Saturday 3rd, Coder Dojo Drogheda held its first code-up at MOR Solutions offices! Taking a slightly different approach to other Dojo’s by partnering with Schools in Drogheda and while all ages from 11 up are welcome we are targeting Transition Year and up specifically we had a slightly older demographic.

That being said we did have Cian, aged 11, present who proved to be a star coder and a fountain of knowledge and business acumen!

Thanks to James and Ben for helping us off the ground with support and advise and Ben for his time at the first Dojo with mentoring the mentors!

IT Teacher Susan Page and Principle John Halpin of St Oliver’s Community College, Drogheda have been fantastic – and have encouraged the TY, 5th and 6th year classes to get involved. We plan to visit other schools in January to encourage their students to also participate.

Future Drogheda Coder Dojo Code-ups

We plan to meet on the third Saturday of the month (next meeting 21st January) but as interest grows we will increase the frequency to meet demand.
