Young coding Ninjas have the cool factor!

CoderDojo Ninjas came in their droves to DCU on the 7th and 8th of June to demo their cool and imaginative projects that they’ve been working on at their Dojos at the CoderDojo Coolest Projects awards. The Coolest Projects awards is all about encouraging CoderDojo participants, every attendee was awarded a super cool CoderDojo USB Belt for entering their projects! Codestarter partners with CoderDojo to provide laptops to kids who want to code

Starting in June CoderDojo will be partnering with a new U.S. based nonprofit, Codestarter, to offer laptops to  youths from underserved areas who wish to join CoderDojo sessions. By focusing on underserved populations and offering hardware, Codestarter hopes to open the doors to programming education for young people who previously couldn’t take full advantage of  the opportunities available  for learning to code with CoderDojo. The Eircom Junior Spiders

The Eircom Spiders Awards is a great event that rewards and acknowledges the achievements of students in schools accross Ireland. We congratulate all the students and CoderDojo Ninjas that entered their projects for this years Junior Spiders Awards! There has been a 45% increase in entries this year showing the growth of tech skills in young people. This year CoderDojo Co-founder Bill Liao was judging for the Web Design category. Raspberry Pi’s for all UK Dojos :-)

The Raspberry Pi Foundation with Google UK have donated Raspberry Pi’s to the Hello World Foundation to distribute to all UK Dojos!
