CoderDojo has come a long way from the initial Dojo held by James and Bill at the National Software Centre, Cork in 2011 where the original “rules” sheet still hangs in the Dojo today! Since the first Dojo here the CoderDojo movement has grown from strength to strength and as of July there are over 458 Dojos spread across 47 countries, such as Nigeria, Japan, Italy, Romania, Hawaii, the US and more!   About 250 projects were entered for the Coolest Projects event and the winning ideas included an app to help locate a charging point when an eCar is running low on juice, a Wild Western game and a smartphone selfie website. Other projects such as an anti-bullying quiz, by 11-year-old Clondalkin schoolgirl Kathleen Maughan, and a computer game for people with dyslexia also received an honourable mention….
