3 ways to get involved in Code Week EU

Europe now has more than 1000 active Dojos — and what better way to celebrate this than to organise, or take part in, a Code Week EU event!

Last year, 2.7 million people in more than 70 countries took part in Code Week EU. This year, between 5 and 20 October 2019, similar numbers of students, teachers, educators and digital creators are expected once again to get involved in a variety of events across Europe. And you can too!

What is Code Week EU?

Code Week EU is a volunteer-led, grassroots initiative whose mission is to bring coding and digital literacy to everybody in a fun and engaging way. With such similar goals to us, we are proud to partner with Code Week EU and to support you in the CoderDojo community to get involved.

3 ways to get involved

  • Organise a CoderDojo Code Week event for your community. This can be anything, big or small, where you share digital skills and encourage creativity! Your event will also be a great way to promote your Dojo and to recruit some new Ninjas or volunteers. Some examples of events are:
    • A hackathon
    • A Dojo session where you host a special workshop or series of talks, e.g. on robotics
    • A MegaDojo

Make sure to add your activity or event to the Code Week EU map at codeweek.eu/events.
  • Tell us about your event, because we might be able to send you a CoderDojo Events Pack and to have your event featured on our Community Calendar! Email us at [email protected] and learn how we can support you. We’d love to hear about the different Code Week events happening across the European CoderDojo community.
  • You can participate in a Code Week EU event happening near you. Meet like-minded people and learn some new coding skills! See what events are being planned in your local area.

We can’t wait to see what Code Week EU events the CoderDojo community is going to celebrate at!
