5 things you can look forward to at Scratch Conference Europe

Scratch Conference Europe 2019 is one month away, and we’ve got a stellar group of speakers and workshops ready to rock your world. Here are five Scratch Conference things you can get super excited about!

Different perspectives

From our opening keynote by Scratch co-founder Mitchel Resnick on how coding is at a crossroads, to stories about how Dojo leaders are using Scratch to inspire children and grow the CoderDojo community in Japan and Italy, there will be so many things to inspire you and give you fresh ideas to use in your own community.

International networking

We have attendees coming from 27 countries and every continent of the world (except Antarctica)! We’re even hosting a meetup for Dojo members to give you a dedicated space to connect with other mentors.

Learning experiences

Ever wondered how to use Scratch to make music, or write machine learning programs, or tell stories, or make robots, or make art, or even design interactive books? The HUGE range of workshops run by our amazing facilitators will let you learn new skills to take back home and share with your club! See the full schedule on the conference website.

Location

Cambridge is a beautiful city with lots to see and do. Walk around the historic university grounds, take a punting tour, and try one of the many (many) great cafés in the scenic centre or bars by the river Cam.

Feeling of community

Leaving a Scratch Conference is bittersweet; you’ll be primed and ready to dive back into your Dojo, but you’ll also wish the weekend was just a little bit longer!

Get involved

We’d love to see you at Scratch Conference Europe this year! There’s only a handful of tickets left, so book now on our conference homepage to avoid disappointment.

Another low-cost option for those wishing to attend the event is to volunteer. Those who offer up their weekend get to attend talks across two auditoriums, demo stands, poster sessions, and ignite discussions for free, have reasonable travel costs within the UK covered… And you get a free T-shirt! You can sign up by filling in our volunteer form.

Accommodation is available onsite at Churchill College; read the FAQs for more info.

Scratch Conference Europe is kindly sponsored by EPAM.
