How New Dojos in Ireland and the UK can avail of a Starter Pack!
At the CoderDojo Foundation our mission is to give more young people the opportunity to code and create. To focus on this mission, our aims are twofold; to grow the amount of Dojos and to support and retain the clubs that are currently running.
To achieve both these aims we are piloting a new initiative of CoderDojo starter packs. This helpful pack includes hardware, educational content and materials which will help you create a sustainable Dojo for years to come. From today, these are available to Dojos who are starting in the UK & Ireland.
Dojos are for young people between the ages of 7 & 17 and can be run in any public spaces such as community centres, libraries, schools, and offices. You can learn more about how to start a Dojo here or on our new online course which is free to sign up to here.
The starter pack is only available for Dojos starting in the UK and Ireland right now as we pilot this initiative. Once your Dojo is verified (and on our global map) you will be sent the instructions to apply for the pack and it will be shipped to you as soon as possible.
What if my Dojo has been running for a while?
Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten about you! In autumn/fall 2018, we are planning a similar initiative for Dojos that have been running for a while so you won’t miss out on CoderDojo swag! Make sure you are signed up to our newsletter (for those volunteering with a Dojo in Ireland here or for those volunteer with a Dojo outside of Ireland sign up here) to hear about upcoming news for your Dojo.
You should also encourage parents and attendees of your Dojo to start their own club today (with the help of our free online course) to ensure more young people can access a regular Dojo and get the opportunity to learn to code.
