Launching The Future Makers Awards at EUDojo

Today, at our 4th annual EUDojo held in the European Parliament in Brussels, CoderDojo along with Liberty Global launched The Future Makers Awards! It celebrates digital solutions to society’s most pressing challenges. From today, the 18th of October until the 1st of December, young people aged 10-17 years old across Europe and beyond are invited to use their coding superpowers to create a positive impact in society.

Young people can enter the awards in any one of ten languages, which include: Czech, Dutch, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Romanian, Spanish.

They can use any coding language and technology they want to develop their idea and bring the project to life!

“Computer and coding skills are essential to thriving in the digital economy and getting a good job, but we want to do more. We want to encourage young people to use their newly acquired coding superpowers to make a positive impact on society. That’s why we are launching the first pan-European Future Makers Awards, to celebrate and recognize young people who use coding and digital solutions to answer society’s most pressing challenges”

Roy Sharon, Vice President, Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability.

The Future Makers Awards initially started as a sponsored award that was part of the CoderDojo Coolest Projects awards in the RDS last June. The new edition of the Awards is a continuation of the awesome partnership between CoderDojo and Liberty Global.
