DojoCon 2014 Dates & Location Announced!

Greetings from CoderDojo Sligo, Yeats Country, in the North West of Ireland, Adventure Capital, European Town of Sport 2014, host of Fleadh Cheoil 2014 and the proud host of DojoCon 2014. Following from the October 2013 call for submissions we were delighted to be selected to host DojoCon 2014. As you might be aware the original April date coincided with the Easter weekend. This is traditionally a family time and the decision was made to move it out to a date more suitable for everyone.

 

We can now, with pleasure confirm that DojoCon 2014 will take place over two days –  Friday (evening) October 3rdand Saturday October 4th 2014.

 

The evening of Friday October 3rd will see a very informal mentor meetup in Sligo where you will have the opportunity to mingle with those attending the conference and relax.

 

Saturday October 4th is DojoCon day in the Knocknarea Arena on the IT Sligo campus. At this year’s conference we aspire to enthuse mentors and, in keeping with the CoderDojo Charter; to encourage and inspire involvement from parents, and to help facilitate Dojos to work increasingly with their local communities. The focus of the conference will be on ensuring the sustainability of the CoderDojo movement and finally challenging CoderDojo to collaborate further with Industry and Education.

 

Saturday night offers the opportunity to let your hair down a little, mingle, network and party. We’d recommend that you stay on in Sligo and make the absolute most of the DojoCon weekend. More details will follow nearer the date☺

 

As you would expect DojoCon 2014 is being organised by a group of volunteers who are committed to the success of CoderDojo and the conference.  I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the core team organising DojoCon 2014.
