Our Awesome Funders: Introducing The O’Sullivan Foundation

The Hello World Foundation is delighted to recognise the O’Sullivan Foundation, set up and run by Sean O’Sullivan as our founding donor. Without the very generous support from The O’Sullivan Foundation earlier this year, its likely that we would never have gotten up and running!

Sean O’Sullivan, entrepreneur and philanthropist, is the sole benefactor of the O’Sullivan Foundation which has made previous donations to organisations such as the Khan Academy. He is the co-founder and Managing Director of Car.ma a 50 person technology firm based in Ireland and the United States. He is also Managing Director of SOSventures International, a $200 million investment management operation with returns averaging 27% over the past 15 years.

“CoderDojo is an incredibly effective organisation because it taps into volunteerism and the innate desire that people in technology have with sharing knowledge, helping improve the world, and the universal desire we all have to help society’s next generation develop the skills and talents they need to succeed and compete.” — Sean O Sullivan, October 2013

Sean has been a supporter of CoderDojo since the very beginning, enabling James Whelton to work on the initiative full time by making him a Social Entrepreneur in Residence at SOS Ventures. Sean is deeply passionate about the Hello World Foundations mission, our goals and equipping the next generation with the necessary skills to operate in todays digital world. We are delighted to say that Sean has also joined the Hello World Foundation board as a founding board member.
