AIB Digital Award
AIB Build a Bank Challenge 2013/14 launched in the LAB, Dundrum on Friday, the 25th October and announced the details of the new Digital Award in conjunction with CoderDojo.
AIB’s Build a Bank Challenge is one of the largest transition year competitions in the country. This programme links directly to the Business Studies curriculum and is a great way for students to develop key business and entrepreneurial skills in a fun and interactive way. Students set up and manage their own school bank and compete at the National final for a top prize of €5,000 for their school.
The new Digital Award in conjunction with CoderDojo is for the teams that excel at running their school bank by embracing the use of digital channels and media. The award will be adjudicated by James Whelton at the National Final and the local CoderDojo champion at the Regional Finals. Winners at the Regional and National Finals will be presented with the award and each school bank team member will be presented with a prize.
James Whelton said: “We are delighted to be involved in AIB’s Build a Bank Challenge this year as it has the similar values of learning in a fun, open and collaborative way. I’m really looking forward to seeing the innovative ideas the students will come up with and I would advise them to make cool stuff happen with this and use different technologies to make their school banks a success. We look forward to meeting everyone at the regional finals and best of luck to all involved.”
