Andy Kent the lead Champion and Mentor for a London CoderDojo emailed me yesterday afternoon to tell me about this public success for CoderDojo.
It is important that national media continue to recognise the vital need for new ways to inspire kids to code, and understand the fundamentals of technology.
The skills gap that has been created by a dearth of solid computer science curriculum from an early age, and more importantly an effective means of actually engaging children to learn about technology is a cause celebre that the to which the world is only just waking up.
I personally hope that CoderDojo and its ilk continue to grab public attention, so that we can achieve the groundswell necessary to overcome this very real challenge for todays youth.
